Class of '22 Valedictorian & Salutatorian!
Congratulations to our Class of '22 Valedictorian Madeline Pitre and our Salutatorian Emily Krieger!
Madeline is the daughter of David and Dr. Laurie Pitre.Madeline scored a perfect 36 on the ACT. She is a National Merit Finalist, National AP Distinctive Scholar, member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Rho Kappa Honor Society, and Tri- M Honor Society. Madeline is the President of the Campus Service Council, a Drum Major in the BHS Marching Band and plays clarinet and piano in the Wind Ensemble. She is a member of the Varsity Tennis Team, the Varsity Cross Country Team (Girl’s Captain) and Varsity Track Team. She is an officer in the Student Council, Spanish Club, and Beta Club. She is a member of the Key Club, AP Psychology Club, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is on the MS State Superintendent of Education’s Student Advisory Board. Madeline works at the local, state, and national level as an Anti-Tobacco/Anti-Vaping Advocate. She is a Harrison County Tobacco Free Coalition Youth Advocate and serves on the CVS Catch My Breath National Youth Advisory Board. She was awarded the AmeriCorps President’s Silver Young Adult Volunteer Service Award. Madeline plans to attend Yale in the fall to study Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry.
Emily Krieger is the daughter of April and Klint Krieger. She has been an involved student athlete in
the district of Biloxi since sixth grade. She has participated in soccer and softball every year since, serving as the 2021-22 varsity soccer captain and the 2021 varsity softball MVP. Emily was recently announced to be a recipient of the BXS Insurance scholarship and a District VIII Lindy Callahan Scholar Athlete scholarship winner. She likes to spend her free time reading, sleeping,listening to music, or spending time with her friends. Emily will be attending the University of Mississippi to major in Pharmaceutical Science with an early acceptance to the UM School of Pharmacy in addition to the Honors College and Lucky Day programs.
