MS Economic Council Announces STAR Students

Biloxi Schools is pleased to announce that three of our seniors have been named STAR Student for the 2020-21 school year by the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) M.B. Swayze Foundation, sponsor of the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program. Established by the MEC in 1965, the purpose of the STAR program is to recognize outstanding students and teachers in Mississippi. Biloxi High’s STAR students are Lauren Johnson, Addie Grace Pyron and Sailie Smith.

Each STAR Student is asked to designate a STAR Teacher, the teacher who has made the greatest contribution to the student’s scholastic achievement.

Lauren Johnson has chosen Mr. Morgan, Assistant Director of Bands.

Addie Grace Pyron & Sailie Smith have chosen Mrs. Katherine Pitts, Dual Credit Algebra & Dual Credit Trigonometry.

Congratulations to these outstanding students and educators!
