We have been monitoring Tropical Storm Sally throughout the day. The Biloxi Public School District will have school on Monday, but will release all campuses 1 hour early in order to get students home prior to deteriorating conditions. We will closely monitor weather conditions in the morning and release earlier if circumstances change.
All BPS schools are scheduled for distance learning on Tuesday (and possibly Wednesday). This distance learning will not consist of live/online instruction due to potential power outages and connectivity issues. Teachers will provide all BPS students with distance learning materials during the school day on Monday. Staff will be available via email and Google Classroom as is permissible throughout storm conditions. Obviously, safety takes precedence over school work and we expect you to make the best decisions for your family. This distance learning day is being provided to keep us on track with student instructional days. A decision for Wednesday will be announced as new information becomes available.
Stay safe and watch media outlets for future updates. We know how to deal with hurricanes, help one another, and keep our community safe. Biloxi Strong and Indian Nation proud!
