Bachelors Degree in Special Education from Mississippi State University
Ms. Diane Bounds
Welcome to Back Bay Elementary! I am one of the Special Education Teachers and I am truly blessed to be able to inspire my students. Let me introduce myself to you. I have lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast all my life, in fact, I attended Biloxi Schools from first grade through twelfth grade. After graduation, I attended Mississippi State University, where I was a cheerleader and Miss Mississippi State University. I represented MSU, and that year was chosen Miss Mississippi. I was very proud to represent my state and college in the Miss America Pageant. After graduation, my first teaching job was at Fernwood, the very school I had attended first grade through ninth. I had truly come full circle. Then I flew off in another direction. I became a flight attendant for Delta Airlines for the next six years. I lived in Chicago, New Orleans, and Boston. While in Boston, I was had the position of Director of Special Events for the Boston Breakers (USFL). I also worked for the Pensacola Tornadoes, a semi-pro basketball team and the Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL). As you can tell, I am a real sports fan! I pull for the Saints, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Through this journey, I taught school in Mississippi, Maryland, Florida, and then back home to Biloxi. I have been teaching for over 30 years and still find it so rewarding. I see each student as an individual, and strive to assist them based on their specific needs. I want them to become confident learners. I look forward to working with your children and getting to know you also. Thank you for entrusting them to me for this school year.
