Hello and Go Biloxi Indians! My name is Sarah Horn, and I am a native Mississippian growing up in Clarksdale, the heart of the Delta. My husband is a Gulf Coast native and we have lived in Biloxi for six years. I love living on the Gulf Coast, and I am so excited to be teaching at Biloxi Upper Elementary!
I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders, but I have spent most of my career in education. I have taught Preschool and First Grade in North Mississippi as well as being an elementary school principal for 3 years with the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools. I also taught abroad for 7 years in the UK, working with various grade levels and teaching in a variety of subject areas. The past four years I taught Fourth Grade at North Bay Elementary, and I am so excited to begin teaching at Biloxi Upper Elementary.
I am married to Tim Horn, and we have four amazing children. Katherine is 26 and is a Registered Behavior Technician with the Mississippi Clinic for Autism and Related Disorders. Winston, 23, is working on a degree in Sports and Recreation Management at Ole Miss. Harrison is 20 and is a junior at Mississippi State University; and Virginia, 18, is taking a gap year in Auburn, Alabama and will begin an Architecture major next fall.
I look forward to creating a new school family with my students this year!
