Degrees and Certifications:
Miss Peyton Holloway
Hi! My name is Peyton Holloway. I was born and raised in Biloxi, MS. I was taught in the Biloxi Public School district from 7th-12th grade. I was a student-athlete at the University of Louisiana at Monroe for 3 years before transferring to Southern Miss to complete my education. I graduated from USM with a degree in Secondary Education concentrating in English. This is my second year as an ELA teacher! I am super excited to work with my students to create an environment that fosters learning in a positive, rewarding way. I also coach Biloxi High School's Lady Indian soccer team.
In my class, my students will be focusing on reaching comprehension and critical thinking. I am going to prepare my students to succeed throughout their junior high school and high school years. Writing will be an element that will be expanded this year. We will be moving through thought processes and composition improvement skills. Our taught novels this year will include A Long Walk to Water, The Outsiders, and The Giver. The work will be challenging and rewarding!
I am looking forward to the year ahead of us! We have amazing staff and faculty that will be working together to provide the best education for all students. As members of Indian Nation, we will work together to instill pride in ourselves, our school, and our community. I am very involved in our school community, and I encourage my students to do so as well. We expect Excellence From All, For All.
