Hello there! I am Cagney Weaver, a CREATE teacher at Biloxi Upper Elementary. I am originally from Ocean Springs, but am a Biloxi girl at heart and heritage. I graduated Ocean Springs High School in 2005, attended USM for my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in Harrison County and moved over to the Indian Nation to begin my third year of teaching. This year will begin my twelth year of teaching, and I am so very excited! I became Nationally Board Certified in Literacy in 2014, and was awarded the Milken Educator Award for the state of Mississippi in 2014. 

I have a wonderful family- a husband, Jack, and two beautiful girls, Jaclynn (8) and Arrington (4). We have two rowdy dogs, LuLu and Levi. We are big MSU fans (Hail State) and live for football season! In my spare time I am an "education nerd", so I am either on Twitter discussing education, reading educational texts, or advocating for the students and teachers in our state. I have a great passion for education in our state, and I constantly strive to do the best for my students. 

Because there is a great need for partnership between school, home, and community, my door is always open! It's going to be a great year!
