•  Assistant Principals

My name is Carl Fantroy, and I am an assistant principal at Biloxi High School. I have been involved in education for nearly 38 years. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Central University of Iowa. I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Mississippi.

I began my teaching career in Biloxi as a middle school teacher, basketball coach, and girl’s track coach. I subsequently became the assistant principal at Michel Junior High School and served for seven years. I spent two years as assistant principal at Biloxi High school during my first stint here before being assigned as principal of Michel 7th Grade School for four years and Biloxi Junior High School for two years. During my tenure at Michel, I was awarded BPS Administrator of the Year. I have been involved with and chaired a number of committees throughout my career.

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my three daughters, my grandchildren, and my wife of 22 years. My passions are writing, playing basketball, and antique shopping. Although I am no longer a basketball coach, I still find time to coach younger players. It is gratifying to help players reach their true potential in the game I still love!

It is an honor and privilege to be an assistant principal at Biloxi High School. The staff at BHS is unequivocally the best. Our teachers spend countless hours ensuring the success of all students. I believe that all students can learn, but they learn in different ways and at different rates. The performance of students, staff, and parents at Biloxi High School is exceptional. We are and will continue to be a Level 5 school district!!  I am extremely proud of Biloxi High School for the accomplishments and am ecstatic to be a part of the journey.

I look forward to our continuous success and the positive atmosphere at Biloxi High School.

My name is Dustin Merit, and I have the great privilege to be one of the assistant principals at Biloxi High School.  During my years in education I have taught English, art, and a self-contained elementary class.  However, after thirteen years I have found a home here at BHS.  Working with the students and staff here has been, and will continue to be, the highlight of my career.

I have a wonderful wife and two amazing daughters who attend Biloxi schools.  I am also proud to say my wife, Allison, is the assistant principal at North Bay Elementary.

When not at school I enjoy activities that allow me to explore stories and characters.  The English teacher comes out in me whenever I read or watch a good movie.  Any good story line can become a way to escape into another place and time.

Each day here at Biloxi High School has been a wonderful adventure.  There is not comparison to the students and faculty here at BHS.  I am honored to be part of the Biloxi Indian tradition.
