Welcome! I am Debbie Powell, and I teach 2nd grade Reading and English Language Arts. This is my 27th year teaching in Biloxi Public Schools. I am so thankful I am able to be a part of Popp's Ferry Elementary. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Special Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. I obtained my Master's degree in Elementary Education from William Carey University. During my teaching career, I have taught and worked with students in all grades K-12. I have to say, 2nd graders are the best!

The best part of my job is watching my students grow academically and socially throughout the year. My goal is for students to not only become better readers, but love reading and love coming to school. I cannot wait to make memories with my students this year at the best school - Popp's Ferry Proud!
