    Kindergarten Math Fluency
     

    For Kindergarten the standard for fact fluency in the Biloxi Public School District is 14 correct facts per minute when the assessment is in written form.   Facts should be taught in an interrelated way which emphasizes the connection between addition and subtraction.  Because subtraction facts are more difficult for students to master, teachers should not wait until students master addition facts before beginning to work on subtraction facts.

    Each test will be given as a one minute timed test.   The results are interpreted as follows:

    Counting Within 5 Correct in 1 minute Orally
