 News in Our Classroom
Welcome and Welcome back to North Bay! We have a star studded year planned for readers at North Bay. I am so blessed and honored to teach such great students. Thank you parents for all that you do to help make our job easier. It is my goal this year to point each child I meet to success through reading and thinking. "Success is a journey, not a destination." Ben Sweetland

Students attend the library weekly to check out books.  The librarian reads to them from various genres and/or the students receive silent reading time as they complete an activity related to the their reading or to specific grade level objectives.

The library cooridinaes and collaboates with the classroom teachers to reinforce and extend the Language Arts skills through the Accelerated Reader program.

The students will identify story elements approriate for each grade level.

The students will express, communicate or evaluate ideas effectively.

The students will use word recognition and vocabulary skills to communicate.

The students will interpret text through moving, drawing, speaking, writing, acting or singing.

Assessments: The library does not give grades.

Homework/Assignments/Projects: The library does not require homework.  Your child will be allowed to bring home library books to read, so please help them set a 10-20 minute reading time each night.
