Objectives: This is a general overview of what
the teacher will teach and what the student is expected to master.

Assessments: A
weekly reading test will be given on stories and skills taught that given
week. Weekly tests will account for
90% of the final grade. The Biloxi
District Term Test will be given at the end of each nine weeks will account
for 10% of the final grade.
Homework/Assignments/Projects: Homework assignments given to students should be
returned the following day unless otherwise specified. No homework will be given on the night of
school events.
Course Requirements:
Reteaching and Retesting:
Reteaching and
Retesting: A student who fails a test
will be offered an opportunity for reteaching and retesting within 10 days by
the classroom teacher. In that
instance the teacher will send home a written notice. Communication will take place between the
teacher and the parent as to the reteaching times and the date of the
retest. The student must attend the
reteaching sessions to be eligible to retest.
The higher of the two tests will be placed in the grading program in
the computer.
**If a
student does not fail a test but the parent would like for them to retake the
test, a parent may request that the
test be retaken. The teacher will then
notify the parent of the reteaching assighment to be completed AT HOME by the student under the direction and
assistance of the parent, the date the assignment is due to the teacher, and
the date of the retest.
Retesting
requests must be made within 10 days of receiving the test grade.
