• Originally from: I was born and raised here in Biloxi.

• Places taught: I have been at Popp's Ferry since 1986. I was an instructional assistant in 5th grade as I worked on my teaching certificate.

  Activities: I earned my Master's Degree in Elementary Education at William Carey College in August 2007. For the past four years I have worked as a tutor at Sylvan Learning Center in Gulfport. This year I am tutoring some of our Popp's Ferry students in reading, language skills, and math during "Power Hour" on Monday thru Thursday.

  Awards: I have certified as Model and Master Classroom in Reading Renaissance.

  Family: My family has grown in the last several years. I have four children all of whom are married and have blessed me with six beautiful grandchildren. I also have two pets: Petey, who is a very active Beagle and Ladybug, a Dachshund that loves to chase all the squirrels in the yard.

• Originally from: Ocean Springs, MS.

• Places taught: This is my 28th year at Popp's Ferry.

• Activities: I recently received my Master's of Education degree from William Carey College.  I participated as a clinical faculty member in U.S.M.'s PT3 program which provided technology mentoring for student teachers, and I am a member of the Biloxi M.A.F.T.  Along with working with computers, I also love working out at the gym and taking aerobics.

  Awards: At U.S.M. I was a member of Kappa Delta Pi Ed. Honor Society, and the Phi Theta Kappa Alumni chapter. In the six years we have participated in the Reading Renaissance Program, I have certified as Model Classroom for six years and Master Classroom for five years.

   

  Family: I have two daughters that both attended Popp's Ferry.  Erin graduated from U.S.M. in May, 2007 and is now a sales rep. for Cintas in Houston, Tx. Claire graduated from Biloxi High and is now attending U.S.M. in Hattiesburg.  I also have a pretty gray kitty named Lizzy!
