Open Power Point: Start/Programs/Microsoft Power Point
1. On the first slide, always put a title and your name
2. To type: use the text box in the drawing tools on the bottom, or use Word Art (blue “A” at the bottom) for titles.
3. Add a background design: Click on Format/Slide Design OR Format/Background
4. Add clip art: Click on Insert/Picture/Clip Art. To add clip art from the Web, click on the globe (clips online), type an item to search for, check the box of the picture you want, and then click the red arrow to download it. Click “accept”, then “download now”. Insert the picture.
5. Add sound effects to slides: Click Insert/movies and sounds/sounds from clip organizer. Click insert/play automatically.
6. Add a picture from a file: Click on Insert/Picture/From File. Select the folder the picture is saved in, click on the picture file and click insert.
7. To insert the next slide, click Insert/New Slide
8. To add transitions and sounds to the slides as they switch: Click Slideshow/Slide Transitions and also to add sound effects.
9. To make slideshow run continuously: Slideshow/slide transition. Uncheck “mouse click” and select “automatically after”, put in a time.
10. To make your text or graphic animated: Click Slideshow/Custom Animation or right click on object and select “custom animation”.
11. To Print in Handout Style (6 mini pictures of your slides per page) Go to: File/Print/Print What: Handouts. Choose 6 slides per page.
12. Font Style & Color: To change the font style, click on Format/Font to see samples of different letter styles and colors.
13. Spell check! Go to Tools/Spelling. Always spell check and edit!
14. To view all slides to edit: Go to View/Slide Sorter
15. To view Slide Show: Go to Slide Show/View Show
