Mr.
Mundy earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from
Southeastern University
in Lakeland, Florida. He taught TV Production and Computers for
a year before moving to Texas. Mr. Mundy enjoyed teaching 4th
grade for the 2 years that he lived in Keller, Texas, a suburb
of Fort Worth. While there, he was honored by the
Keller School
Board with "The Innovative Teaching Award" in 1999, which
recognizes individuals for outstanding use of technology in the
classroom. Originally from the coast and alumni of Biloxi Public
Schools; Mr. Mundy is excited to be teaching in Biloxi. When
asked, "Why do you enjoy teaching so much?" Mr. Mundy's response
was "I have more fun than the kids do...but don't tell them!"
The
2010-2011 school year begins his eleventh year in Biloxi Public
Schools, it is an exciting time for Mr. Mundy. In recent Last year he
achieved National Board Certification for Teachers. The National
Board for Professional Teaching Standards is leading the way in
making teaching a profession dedicated to student learning and
to upholding high standards for professional performance.
Mr.
Mundy recently completed his Master’s in Elementary Education at
William Carey University
and completed his Specialist in Administrative Education at
The University of Southern
Mississippi in May and after completing the course work, he is currently working to complete
his dissertation about electronic whiteboards in the classroom
for his PhD in Leadership and Research.
Mr.
Mundy had two dogs at home, Obadiah, a yellow lab and Dixie
Belle, a chocolate lab. Do you think they are spoiled? Yeah, me
too!
