ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Important Dates:

            Mid Term Progress Reports:  February 11

            Term Exams:  March 11-12

            Report Cards:  March 18

Students and parents are encouraged to check STI for current student progress, missing assignments and earned grades on tests and quizzes.

Additional progress reports will be sent home on an as needed basis. In these instances, it is the student’s responsibility to show all progress reports to their parents.

Grading

A = 90-100   B = 80-89   C = 75-79  D = 70-74   F = BELOW 70    I  = Incomplete

Grades are weighted as follows:

Activities (Daily Assignments & Quizzes) 25%

Formal Assessments (Test & Projects) 55%

Term Exam 20%

Grading follows the policies of Biloxi Public Schools. A mid-term progress report and a report card following the end of each term are issued. The student’s current grades are available via Internet STI.

Assessments: Student performance will be evaluated through formal and informal assessments.

Retesting:  Retesting is permitted (within 10 days of receiving grade) only on formal assessments (those grades that carry a weight of 55%).  Retesting sessions will be scheduled by the seventh grade math department and will require at least 30 minutes of a re-teach session. The higher of the two grades will be accepted.

Homework: Homework is due the following day unless otherwise specified by the classroom teacher. Assignments will be accepted late with a reduction of points, except when a student has been absent from school.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to complete daily bellringer assignments and submit weekly for an activity grade. Absence is not an excuse. Students are expected to makeup bellringers missed due to absence.

**NOTE**

Pencils Only!!! No homework, class work, quizzes, tests, etc. will be accepted in pen.
