Thank you for your interest in judging the Jeff Davis Elementary Reading Fair!

As a judge, you will evaluate students' projects that are very similar to a book report, but in the style of a science fair project on a backboard. I have created two PowerPoint Presentations that show examples of past winners.

Each project has 10 story elements that must be present.  The classroom teachers will grade each project to make sure all projects that will be judged are complete.  You will use a RUBRIC, or grading sheet to score each project based on Clarity of Writing, Creativity, Quality, Thoroughness, and Level of Interest Evoked.  I will collect your rubrics and tally the scores to determine the winners.

Your part of the process should take about 1 hour.  (Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.)

If you have children that are students at our school, you can still be a judge.  Just let me know ahead of time which CATEGORY your child's project will be entered into, and I will assign you to another category.
