This year we are learning a lot!
Kindergarten is learning to use the mouse and keyboard. They are playing phonics games on Lexia Primary Reading Program, they are building math skills on Orchard and learning to create digital artwork with KidPix.
First Grade is learning how to open and close programs on their own. They are using Lexia Primary Reading to advance their phonics skills. They are practicing math skills on Orchard and with the Math Blaster Program. They continue to use KidPix to stretch their imagination.
Second Grade is also using Lexia Primary Reading to advance their phonics skills. They are practicing language arts and math skills on Orchard and with the Math Blaster Program. They will be using KidPix to create slideshows to showcase their artwork. We have started to learn touch typing on Type to Learn.
Third Graders are beginning to learn touch typing through the Type to Learn Program. They are practicing MCT skills on the Study Island website and with Orchard. They will learn basic text formatting on Microsoft Word. They are will be using KidPix and Power Point to create slideshows to showcase their artwork.
Fourth Graders and Fifth Graders will use Type to Learn, KidPix, Orchard and the Study Island website. They also use part of their class time to review their math lessons using Accelerated Math.
All grade levels have started using the program, Orchard Gold Star. Kindergarten, students are working on PreK and Kindergarten skills lessons. In Grades 1-5, it assesses each child with a grade level test and assigns lessons based on each student's individual needs. The lessons are presented in the format of fun games.
