Prevention Month

       Gorenflo is selling Blue Ribbon Cards for $1.00 each.  When a student purchases a card, his/her name will be placed on the card and displayed in our lobby area.  Additionally, School Kits (pencil bag, pencil, pen, sharpener, ruler, & eraser) and Dog Tags may be purchased

 

L'IL PEOPLES STUDENT SAVINGS BANK

       The last day for students to make deposits for this school year is Wednesday, May 4th.  You may continue to make deposits and withdrawals throughout the summer by going to any Peoples Bank with your student.  During summer registration, you will have the opportunity to re-authorize your student's involvement for the coming year and/or enroll a new student with our bankWe look forward to even more Student Savers next fall and can always use volunteers for this weekly event!  Thank you for your support!

 


Is your child missing a coat? Ms. Terri has a pile of them in the cafeteria!  Please come claim yours before they are donated to Goodwill!

PICTURE PERFECT EFFORT!

       Artwork by second grader Kamri Huy was selected from 54 students representing nine Boys & Girls Clubs in South Mississippi to become the official poster for this year's MS Gulf Coast Resort Classic golf tournament.  She was presented with both a $500 savings bond from Hancock Bank and a $500 gift card from Best Buy.  Beautiful job!

 

TOP A.R. HONORS FOR 3RD TERM

       Congratulations to our current most voracious Accelerated Readers from the third term!  They are:

    5th Grade - Isaac Perkes (109.8 pts)

    4th Grade (a tie!) - Khaleighyah        Crowell & Seth Wilson (32.2 pts)

    3rd Grade - Foley Nguyen (17.2 pts)

    2nd Grade - Alaishe Parish (31.1 pts)

    1st Grade - Kalel McCullough (6.4 pts)

       Mr. Hunt will be acknowledging Fourth Term honors for A.R., as well as other special awards, during Awards Day celebrations on May 18th.  Well done!

 

CREATE STUDENTS ARE CREATIVE!

       Mrs. Anderson's Third-Fifth Grade CREATE students recently presented Mayor A.J. Holloway with a copy of their "Biloxi Alphabet Book" they authored and illustrated.  They will also be putting on a "Renaissance Faire" April 28th-29th that the school's 2nd-5th Graders will get to experience, complete with games, period costumes, artifacts, and foods.  Huzzah, indeed!

 

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20TH -

FIELD DAY & READING IS FUNDAMENTAL (RIF) BOOK DISTRIBUTION

     With the theme, "Get Active with Summer Reading," students will enjoy various playground and field activities, including inflatable bounce houses and a giant dual slide!  They will also be able to select their final FREE book from our RIF program!  (Families are welcome to attend this event with their student's class).

     This is an opportunity for any parent to come and receive instruction on test-taking strategies they can incorporate at home with their student(s).  Handbooks will be provided to every family.

          Do your part and make the time to thank a teacher or two this week!
