What We Are Doing and When!
January 5, 2009 - Students are doing a problem solving activity.
January 6 - February 5, 2009 - Students are working on personal budgeting. They will choose a career to base their budget on. We are taking notes on budgeting. They will look at all the expenses involved in producing a budget. In this fantasy life they are going to be paying taxes (including social security and Medicare), house hunting, deciding on food and other expenses based on the career they choose. We are going to try and let them see what the "real" world is like when THEY have to pay for it!! This is a long unit and does not have a ton of grades with it but we are going to get what we can!
January 22, 2009 - The ROTC from Biloxi High will speak to the students.
January 23, 2009 - Students will be trained on the Talk About It program.
January 30, 2009 - Students from the Career and Technical Center at Biloxi High will be here to talk to the students.
February 4, 2009 - Test on personal budgeting!
February 6, 2009 - Make up day! Students can make up anything that needs to be made up! If nothing, they may play in Photoshop.
February 9, 2009 - Teacher is out.
February 10, 2009 - Biloxi High counselor was here talking about the different diploma routes at BHS. Students were given their Program of Studies book listing all courses available for their 10 grade year. Counselors will be back here Thursday, February 26th to finalize choices for next year. If any changes are made students must turn in a schedule change form to our BJHS counselors BY MAY 1ST!!!! CHANGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE!
February 11 - 13, 2009 - Students will be working through Tutorials in Photoshop!
February 16, 2009 - Students finished a picture in Photoshop and worked on Flash.
February 17 -19, 2009 - Students are developing a PowerPoint presentation on the college they picked out a couple of weeks ago.
February 20, 2009 - Teacher at Regional TSA competition.
February 26 & 27, 2009 - Students will show their presentations to their class. This grade will count as a test grade! Counselors from Biloxi High will be here Thursday, February 26th to schedule for next year!
March 2 - 11, 2009 - We are starting SolidWorks. SolidWorks is a software "engineers, designers and other creative professionals use when they need to design the world’s greatest products."
March 6, 2009 - Test on the definitions for SolidWorks. We will continue working on learning how to draw using Solidworks even after the new term starts!
March 12 & 13, 2009 - Term 3 Tests
