Energy Unit Assignment—Due Tuesday, October 27, 2009

§         Students are to select one of the energy assignments listed below.

§         Items cannot be totally computer generated. Avoid “cutting and pasting” from the Internet to fill a sheet of paper as this shows minimal effort. Students may use a combination of computer generated items (pictures, titles, information) and hand-drawn items.

§         Ideas: You can use large construction paper, half-sheet or whole sheet of poster board for the background. Be creative with items such as glitter, markers, crayons, or even fabric paint.

§         Items should be neat (not sloppy), creative (think outside the box), colorful (not just black/white or pencil), and have accurate information/pictures for your topic.

  1. Energy Transformation Poster

Create a poster on energy transformations.  The poster should include a procession of at least 4 items through which energy transfers from item to item.  The poster cannot be totally computer generated. It must include illustrations, arrows, key information, and label what is happening at each transfer.

  1. Kinetic vs. Potential  Poster

Create a poster about kinetic and potential energy. Contrast the two types. Include information/definition and pictures of each type along with a minimum of four examples of each type.
