Biloxi Junior High School 8^th Grade Advanced Band "EOY" Project Information

Scale-Rudiment Project: End of year Scale-Rudiment Project: WIND players must play 9 major scales (Concert D-G-C-F-Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb) tongued up and slurred down, 2 octaves where possible, and by memory.  The Chromatic Scale must be played 2 octaves minimum, tongued up and slurred down, by memory.  The Chromatic scale will not have a time limit.  PERCUSSION players must play the 40 P.A.S. Rudiments open-closed-open, by memory.

Project Due Date:  Friday, May 21, 2009

Project Performance Time:  Before school or after school (due to length of project).  Those students that have not played their EOY project by the assigned due date will be called on in class to play the entire project.

Academic Credit:  Students successfully completing the EOY Scale/Rudiment Project will receive 2 test grades.

Personal Note:  Students using school instruments should complete their EOY Scale/Rudiment Project before Friday, May 21.  School instruments must be cleaned and lubed (corks greased or valves oiled and slides greased) before returning the instrument for summer storage.
