
Hours of Operation
The Media Center opens every day from 7:15 A.M. until 3:15 P.M.
Circulation Policy
Students are allowed to check out books for a two week period.
Teachers may check out books for classroom or personal use.
We do not charge late fees, however if a book is lost or damaged the book must be paid for.
Sending students to the Media Center
Students are allowed to come to the library before school and during lunch. A pass is not required to come during these times.
When a student comes during class time, they must have a pass.
Students coming to the library during class time should be checking out a book or doing school work. No computer games will be allowed during this time.
A teacher should not send more than three students at a time to the library unsupervised, unless you arrange something with one of the librarians first.
Scheduling Classes
The Media Center has a computer lab with internet capability and is equipped with a promethean board and projector.
We also have a mounted projector and pull down screen that can be used for classes to give presentations.
There is another computer lab on the history hallway that can be scheduled for use as well.
To schedule your class for any of these locations, please contact Mrs. Swanson or Mrs. Fountain by e-mail, phone or in person.
Student Work and Printing
Students are allowed to print school work only and costs 10 cents a page.
If you are bringing a class to use the computer lab and they need to print their work, you may supply your own paper or have the students pay the 10 cent fee.
Teacher Resource Room
The library now has a teacher resource room available.
We have resource books in all subject areas, classroom sets of books, videos, books on tape, and magazines.
The Ellison machine will be housed here when we are scheduled to have it.
Use of Videotapes/DVDs
Please request videotapes/dvds at least 5 days in advance.
To request a videotape/dvd, please complete a video request form. These are kept in the library.
Turn in the request form to the principal for approval.
When it is approved, the request form will be given to the library and we will order it for you.
When the video comes in, we will put it in your mailbox.
Video Resources
The District Media Center has a collection of videotapes and dvds purchased for classroom use.
You can find this collection in THE RED BOOK located in the library or in the District Media Catalog.
Please consult the District Media Center website for a full description of media services and resources available for teachers.
Videos from an Outside Source
If you are bringing in a video from any source other than the District Media Center, an Outside Source Video Form must be completed.
These forms are available in the library.
Give the form to the principal for approval.
Equipment Needs
Equipment that is to be used daily by a teacher may be checked out on a long term basis providing the equipment is available. Requests for long term loans should be made directly through the media center.
Copier
A copier is located in the library, primarily for student use. It is 10 cents a page to make copies.
Teachers may use the copier for single copies or emergencies. In case of an emergency, a teacher should make no more than 10 copies.
Lamination
Please send any materials to be laminated to the library.
We will fill out the lamination form and send your items to the District Media Center to be laminated.
Laminated materials should be for the classroom only.
