September 16 - 17, 2006: The Kiwanis Club had a food booth at the Seafood Festival in Biloxi. Members volunteered to help work the booth over the weekend.   

                           

September 30, 2006: We went to Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport to paint the "Seuss circles" in their parking lot. These circles had not been painted in 3 years.

Thanksgiving Food Drive 2006: Members collected canned goods and other items of necessity for Loaves and Fishes, a soup kitchen in downtown Biloxi.

February 2, 2007: Members met to make Valentines for our veterans.

April 7, 2007: Members volunteered for the Kiwanis' "One Day". They spent the morning picking up trash in a local park and neighborhood.

 

August 29, 2007: Members planted a tree in remembrance of the 2 year anniversary of Katrina.

September, 2007: Members collected goodies to send to 

our troops stationed in Iraq for a project called

"Operation Smile". 

 

November 11, 2007: Members made cards for our veterans at the VA Hospital in honor of Veteran's Day.

 

December 1, 2007: Members volunteered to work at a food booth with the Kiwanis Club at "Christmas in the City".

 

 

February 14, 2008: Members sold compatibility surveys to the students on Valentine's Day. The money raised was given to the Back Bay Mission, which is an organization that provides help to the homeless.

 

 

April 1-4, 2008: Members raised money for the March of Dimes. The money collected will be used to help premature babies and the neonatal care they require.

October 4, 2008: Members volunteered at the Biloxi Kid's Fishing Rodeo. They stuffed goodie bags for the kids who participated and helped them bait their hooks for fishing.

October 11, 2008: Members participated in the Buddy Walk, which benefited the Gulf Coast Down Syndrome Society. The Builders Club also gave a $100 donation to GCDSS, and were recognized as a bronze donor on the T-shirts that were given to those who walked.
October 18, 2008: Members volunteered for Coastal Clean-Up at Hiller Park where they helped make the area a cleaner place. There were 206 volunteers and they collected 157 bags of trash.

There's A Lot At Stake

October 25, 2008: Members helped out at the Kiwanis Family Picnic. It is an annual event held at Hiller Park for the families to get together for good food, fun and games. The Builders Club helped out the kids with games and races, such as the 3-legged race and the sack race.

December 6th, 2008: Members helped Biloxi get into the Christmas spirit by volunteering to help the Kiwanis Club with their food booth at "Christmas in the City."

December 8th - 16th, 2008: Builders Club had a toy drive for the "Santa Wears a Badge" program sponsored by the Biloxi Police Department and the Biloxi Explorer Scouts. The toys that were collected will be given to needy children in the Biloxi area.
February 12th-13th, 2009: Members sold compatibility forms to the student body. The money raised was donated to the Women's Resource Center.

March 26th, 2009: Members stuffed plastic Easter eggs with candy for an Easter Egg Hunt that was held March 28th. The egg hunt was for the Downs Syndrome Society, Inc. and sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Biloxi.

April 4th, 2009: Members helped out with Kiwanis One Day - a day when all members of the Kiwanis family around the globe come together for a day of world-wide service. This year's project was a "Safety Day for Children" at Edgewater Mall.

October 3rd, 2009: Members volunteered at the Biloxi Kiwanis Kid's Fishing Rodeo. They registered the participants of the fishing rodeo.

October 17th, 2009: Members participated in Coastal Clean-Up by picking up trash at Hiller Park in Biloxi.

November 6th, 2009: Members met to make posters for our canned food drive.

December 7th - 16th, 2009:Members had a toy drive for the Santa Wears a Badge program. Toys collected were distributed by the Biloxi Police Department to needy children in our area.
