Becky Pettigrew received the "Golden
Apple Award" from the USM Alumni Association. She is a 2nd grade teacher at Beauvoir
who has been here for 12 years. Mrs.Pettigrew started the "Brave Bear" program,
where students who have a parent in the military who have been deployed in Operation Iraqi
Freedom receive a donated bear. Mrs. Pettigrew works very hard to bring out the best in
her students. She is a real asset to our school and we congratulate her on this well
deserved award.
Mrs. Pettigrew was also awarded the WLOX Golden Apple Award. She was interviewed on
WLOX by Karen Abernathy, Mrs. Pettigrew said she was very nervous!
