| Beauvoir's Mardi Gras

| It was the Friday
before Mardi Gras holiday and excitement was building......strange things were going on in
the cafeteria...... |

| Second graders were
wearing strange head gear. Kids were barking to "Who Let the Dogs Out?"
Mrs. Davis was helping the classes leave the cafeteria "Second Line" style. |

| Mrs. Godsey, retired
cafeteria manager, came back to join in the fun that she started many Mardi Gras ago.
Funny hats and "YMCA" were the order of the day. |

| Every one joined in the
fun, with dancing, masks, and unusual costumes. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| Students joined
cafeteria staff for lessons in the "Cha Cha Slide." Fifth graders wonder
what's going on. |

| Friends from Chartwell,
our cafeteria company, came by to see it all and to help provide some fun too! |

| Sixth grade king and
queen were Ryan Mazon and Dana Brown. |

| The parade was headed
up by the City of Biloxi police dept. The grand marshalls were Dr. and Mrs. Larry
Drawdy. Next came Maj. John Tenaglia and Col. Lance Young, school board liason
members. |

| The head of Biloxi's
Fire Department, Chief Roberts, pleased the crowd. The Krewe of Second Grade paraded next.

 |
| Another fire truck,
then Mr. Arthur White's Golf Cart Float provided music. Our cafeteria staff, along with
their mascots came next. |

 |
 |
| The "Umbrella
Krewe" of Fourth grade came next, Fourth grade recorder choir serenaded us with
"When the Saints Go Marching In. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| Krew members discover
that holding umbrellas and throwing beads requires special abilities and Mrs. Seymour
keeps them all moving along. Next came the Accelerated Reader float headed by our
librarian, Mrs. Henderson and her faithful assistant, Mrs. Marks. |

| The Biloxi Tour Train
was donated by Mr. and Mrs. August Taconi for our top Accelerated Readers to ride. Thank
you! |

| Fifth graders marched
next as Duke Jabril shares with the little ones in the crowd. Krewe of Third grade
marched next, third grade royalty rode in a float pulled by Mr. Suarez. |

| The "Royal
Christmas Trees" driven by the maintenance department came next. West Biloxi Library
rolled with us too. |

| Krewe of Sixth grade
featured the Sixth Grade Marching Band led by Mrs. Melaney and directed by Mr. Bill Lee.

| Sixth grade dukes and
duchesses threw to the crowd and the king and queen were having a great time. |

 |
 |
 |
| When it was all over,
fourth graders relaxed, families all agreed that it was a great parade! Thank you Mr.
Jimerson for organizing such fine festivities for Beauvoir students and their families. |
