Hurricane Ivan We had to evacuate so did. We were planning to go to Tennessee
but we couldn’t because there were not any hotels or motels. So we went to Missouri
and we found a motel finally. It had a pool and was two stories high. The bedrooms had TV
and HBO also had two beds .We stayed there for a couple days. The ride back was so boring.
We got stuck in a whole bunch of traffic. Most of what I did was sleep and read my book.
When I was not reading my book I was talking with my mom and dad. We were talking about
what four things we would take if we had to live on an island for the rest of my life.

Hurricane Ivan We brought my mom’s dog with us. I went to Jackson. We found a hotel in Alabama we stayed there for two days. Then we went to my aunt house’s we spent the night there. It was fun at my aunt’s house. Then we went to my grandma’s house. Then we went to my uncle’s house. Then we went home.There was leaves on the ground and branches on the ground too . Hurricane Ivan For Hurricane Ivan I was going to go to Texas but they had too much traffic on the way. So we turned around and went to Collins to get away from the hurricane. Hurricane Ivan During the hurricane I evacuated to Jackson, Ms.. There was a lot of traffic on the way. Then, we took a short cut for a while. After about eight hours we were in Jackson. First, I stayed at my Aunt Diane’s. Then we went to go get some KFC . After that we went to visit my great grandma . Then, we went to my Aunt Janice’s house and stayed. Hurricane Ivan Before Hurricane Ivan I evacuated to Byron MS to my
aunt’s house. It took us 10 hours to get there when it should’ve taken us 3
hours! We left my aunt’s house on Thursday because my grandpa had to work at Ingalls,
but I wanted to see what happened during the hurricane anyway. On our way back it only
took us 2 ½ hours. All that happened was there were some branches in the yard and on the
roof and there were tons of leaves. |

During Hurricane Ivan my family and I went to Keesler Shelter. The day before we got home my pet died. The whole gate fell down. There was a lot of trees knocked down. Down our block a big tall tree fell on our bus stop, now its gone. Our house is fine. A tree fell on my friend’s house. At the shelter it wasn’t fun. It was really crowded. We watch a lot of movies. During Hurricane Ivan I stayed home.I had power until one o’clock AM Thursday morning. We
had no power all Thursday. So all day we played basketball and grilled hamburgers. They
were very good! The weather was only wind and rain. The wind felt very good. After the
storm my family and I went for a ride around the neighborhood. There were a lot of leaves
in people’s yards. There was only one tree down. It was very, very big! Hurricane

Hurricane Ivan My name is Christine and I evacuated to Little Rock, Arkansas. My family and I stayed with my dad’s brother. We had so much fun because we played with the dogs. Hurricane Ivan I went to Lyman to my cousin NaeNae's house because my mom’s boyfriend Marcus said that he knew the hurricane was not coming. I went because I had no choice. I wish I was older because I would have gone to California. I went to my mom’s boyfriend’s house. My mom’s boyfriend’s name is Jim. I brought some toys so I wouldn’t be bored We played Liar Poker and my mom won every time .We lost power three times which I didn’t like very much. Our house didn’t get destroyed, we got a couple limbs, leaves and one tree. We had

Hurricane Ivan I evacuated to Jackson Mississippi. It was fantastic, only there was bad traffic. It took 4 hours to go 6 miles! We stayed at the church there. We were with there with many people there. We were there for 2 days. We only slept at the church one night. Thursday we went home, every thing was normal, but some leaves, and branches, and, a tree had fallen on the bus stop! Austen Grade 5 |
