First Graders Conversations with Laura Bush

First Graders from Gorenflo and Beauvoir visited with Laura Bush during their library class. They were shown on Good Morning America conversing with the First Lady. When asked what was said as they were talking with Mrs. Bush, here's what the had to say:
  • Gabby-The First Lady said, “How are you doing?” I asked her if she ever tried jalapeños. She said that never tried them. I asked her that because my daddy eats jalapeños on everything.
  • Jaylin-The First Lady said, “How are you doing? Then she said “You are reading-you are good at reading books!” I said “Thank you.”
  • Jordan-I asked her where her husband was and she said he was at a different school.  She said he might come here one day.
  • Carter-I said I went to her house before and she said on that rainy yucky day.
  • Tony- I told her about my book, it was about bugs and butterflies. She said, “Oh that’s a grub,” when she saw it in the book. She knows a lot about bugs!
