On Thursday, May 8 Ms. Fuller’s fifth grade class entertained a very special guest, Hester Ester the tarantula. The students  in Ms. Fuller’s class conducted research and presented facts about spiders to Mrs. Pettigrew’s second grade class.  Mrs. Pettigrew’s students enjoyed viewing Hester close up and learning about Hester's home in the country of Chili in South America. They also learned that she is an arachnid, with eight legs and two bodyparts, not an insect which has six legs and three body parts. Hester really enjoyed her visit with Ms. Fuller and Mrs. Pettigrew’s classes. She especially liked it when the students comment on how beautiful she is. Hester looks forward to visiting Beauvoir again next year.
