Etymologist Visits Beauvoir 2nd Grade
Dr Held brought two Monarch caterpillars. The students were able to observe the life cycle of the Monarch's as they went from caterpillars to chrysalis to butterfly.  Monarch Butterfly
Brandon and Destiny are looking at a crawfish Ethan is looking through a magnifying lens at termites.
Braxton is studying the termites up close. Dr Held is showing a product made from wetland animals.
Mrs. Broussard and Dr. Held are talking about the food chain in the wetlands and how important insects are in the chain. Mrs. Pettigrew is giving out tooth picks with different types of honey.  The students then voted for their favorite flavor.
Joshua is showing Jagger and friends a termite. Joshua is asking Dr Held more questions about termites.
Mrs. Pettigrew is holding up a milk weed plant.  Monarch's favorite food! The students are watching the milk weed bugs and caterpillars in the butterfly pavilion.
The students are watching the termites travel across the page. Monarch caterpillars are feasting on some milk weed.

Butterflies made by Mrs. Broussard's class.  These butterflies were sent to Mexico as part of the Journey North program.  They will receive butterflies from Mexico in the Spring.
