Meal Reimbursements (Per Diem)

Meals are only allowed for overnight stays.  This means that you will be allowed the maximum amount of per diem allowed for the city you are visiting only for the night(s) you stay away from home. There is no allotment for partial days, only nights spent away from home.  Example - you are traveling to Memphis on October 10th, you will be staying in a hotel on the 10th, 11th, and 12th, you will be returning home on the 13th.  You should request meals for the 10th, 11th and 12th.  Even though you are still traveling, you should not request meals on the 13th because you are returning home that day.
