Biloxi High Culinary Arts students defended their title on February 1, 2011 at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson.
The Culinary and the Restaurant Management teams both won 1st Place in the 2nd Annual Mississippi ProStart Invitational Competition.
Both teams are now invited to the National ProStart Competition in Overland Park, Kansas in April.

Restaurant Management Team from Biloxi consisted of Jessica Fowler, Hillary Case and Cierra Formica.
The Biloxi students were not the only winners. The Mississippi Hospitality and Restaurant Association recognized Chef Chris Poplin and the IP Casino Resort Spa as "Mentor of the Year" for their work and support for the Indian Reservation Cafe.
Serving as adviser to the teams was Pam Rosetti of Biloxi High School, and serving as mentors were IP Chefs Poplin, Alfred Kever and Diana Allard.
This year’s winning menu included an appetizer of Japanese Togarashi Crusted Scallops, Jade Bamboo Rice with Diced Mirepoix and Thai Coconut Curry Sauce. The entrée was Tarragon and Parsley Coated Chilean Seabass, Shoepeg Corn Maque Choux with Fresh Popcorn Shoots, Tomato and Fennel Beuree Blanc with Fennell Pollen. The dessert was Mixed Berry Tiramisu with layers of Espresso-soaked Lady Fingers between Sweet Mascarpone and Berries, Caramelized Banana slices topped with Amarena Cherries.

9th Grade Boys Basketball Team dominates district again
The Biloxi 9th Grade Boys Basketball Team (16-1) captured the District Four Championship again with a 52-47 victory over arch-rival Gulfport.
The Indians also won the Bash at the Beach Tournament and the Western Conference Championship earlier this year.
The Indians are now back-to-back District Four Champions. District four is comprised of all District 8-6A & 5A participating schools.
Team members are Jovan Coleman, Reynaldo Garza, Lemarcus Gayden, Elijah Hopkins, Deshaun Jackson, Brandon Long, Devoriae Martin, Raquan McClellan, Da'shon Mickel, Oren Montgomery, Zach Parker, Josh Pugh, Rapheal Shaw, James Walker, Michael Warren, Andre Whittle and Rajaun Williams.
