| Athletic Director Tom Gladney expects to see a large crowd -- a "sea of red" -- Friday night when Biloxi hosts Ocean Springs on the Biloxi High School campus.
Last week, Gladney launched a drive to sell red T-shirts for fans to wear to the game, an effort that resulted in 800 shirts being sold and another hundred still available for $5 each at the athletic office.
The game Friday -- 7 p.m. kickoff -- will be the first home game for the 4-1 Indians in nearly a month, since they defeated D'Iberville on Sept. 10. Since then, the Indians won an overtime thriller at Pearl to climb to 4-0 before falling to George County last week. Ocean Springs, meantime, is 4-2.
The crowd of more than 3,000 at the D'Iberville game sparked Gladney's "sea of red" idea.
"There was such a great crowd that we wanted to build on that energy," he said. "We are expecting a huge crowd and would love to see everyone dressed in red."
Advance tickets: Because of an expected huge turnout for Friday's game, the Athletic Department is selling advance tickets to avoid lines Friday evening. Anyone interested in getting tickets for the game -- $6 each -- can pick them up at the Athletic Department, located at the football stadium, from 8 am to 3 pm, daily through Thursday.
Indian Walk: Friday's game has a 7 p.m. kickoff. This means that the captains will walk at 6:48 p.m. and the team will walk at 6:50 p.m. Those interested in taking part in the pre-game Indian Walk should line up by 6:40 p.m.
