Biloxi residents and others throughout the state have a chance to show their support of Biloxi schools and the youth of the community by purchasing a new specialty license plate, but they need to act soon.
The Big Red Athletic Foundation, a new non-profit organization that supports Biloxi schools athletics programs, is sponsoring a drive in which 300 tags must be sold by Oct. 1 in order for the state to begin production of the tag, which displays the commemorative arrowhead with words Biloxi Indians across the bottom of the tag.
Cost for the tag, which would replace your current vehicle tags, is $31, payable to the Big Red Athletic Foundation.
"This is something that will literally follow you around in your travels," said BRAF board member Felix Gines. "It will show that you are from Biloxi, that you are proud of Biloxi, and that you support the youth of this community. What we're asking is for people to get moving, though, and purchase their tags now, before the Oct. 1 deadline."
