Biloxi Public Schools will mark 150 years throughout the day today with students and staff throughout the district enjoying birthday cakes and burying time capsules at each school, and a program and reception this afternoon at 5:30.
The 5:30 ceremony at the junior high school will feature former Superintendents Dr. Olon Ray, Tom Burnham and Larry Drawdy, Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise, Mayor A.J. Holloway and other local leaders.
The hour-long ceremony will be followed by a free reception sponsored by the district’s food vendor, Chartwell’s.
