The Biloxi Public School District is asking parents and students to take a few minutes to provide valuable feedback on the school system and its programs.
To take the survey, click on the "Take the survey" icon at right, or on appropriate link at the bottom of this Windtalker. The survey for parents/community members also is available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. Although students will have an opportunity to complete their survey at school, they may take it at home. School administrators and teachers will be filling out their own surveys on the district’s intranet.
Results from the surveys will be used by the district's Office of Federal Programs to help define needs and priorities at Biloxi schools.
Biloxi Public Schools receives funds from the federal government for the expressed purpose of addressing high priority needs. The needs are determined by analyzing data received from the surveys given to students, parents/community members, teachers and administrators.
The school district’s Office of Federal Programs uses federal funds to administer four programs:
--- Title I supports supplemental services for students in elementary schools.
--- Title II supports teacher and principal training across the district.
--- Title III supports programs and services for English language learners throughout the district.
--- Title IV supports and promotes safe and drug-free schools for K-12th students.
If you have questions about these programs, contact Dr. Janice Wilson, director of Elementary Education and Federal Programs at janice.wilson@biloxischools.net or at (228) 374-1810, extension 129.
