Basketball team headed to state tournament
2/23/2010

The Biloxi Indians Boys Basketball Team is advancing to the MHSAA State Tournament for the third year in a row.

The Indians won the 5A State Championship last year and will be attempting to win the first 6A State Championship in Mississippi.

In years past, three teams from the South and three teams from the North advanced to the state championship, but with the addition of the extra classification this year, only two teams from the South and two teams from the North will advance.

The Indians, 27-3 on the year, will advance as the No. 2 team from the South and will play Starkville on Wednesday, March 3rd at 2:30 p.m. at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.

Meridian will play Greenville Weston at 8 p.m. on March 3rd. The two winners will advance to the 6A Championship game at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 6th.
