The Biloxi School Board will meet this afternoon at 5 at the Dukate Building.
Among the issues scheduled to be addressed at the meeting are an update of construction of the new wing at Biloxi High School, recognition of Beauvoir student Carter Wells and Beau Rivage Casino & Resort diversity training participants, and a review of property and gaming tax revenue figures.

Girls track team runs away with District 7 title
The Biloxi High School girls track team won the District 7 5-A title during a meet at Pascagoula over Spring Break, and will compete in the regional meet at Biloxi High School stadium on Thursday.
The Lady Indians won the District title with a point total of 115, a score that beat other competition by 37 points.

Cheerleaders to host clinic Saturday
The Biloxi High School cheerleaders will present the 2009 Spring Cheer Clinic on
Saturday at the Biloxi High School Sports Arena.
Registration for the clinic will begin at 8:30 a.m.; the clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon.
Cost is $30 per person, and the clinic is open to ages 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 and 10-12.

Jeff Davis student cited by Merrill Lynch
Kimberly Sanchez, a sixth grade student at Jeff Davis Elementary School in Biloxi, has been named a Merrill Lynch Young Entrepreneur for the Mississippi middle school division.
In addition, Kimberly's Stock Market Game Team placed second in the Fall Division of the Stock Market Game, and she will also be recognized and awarded for that on May 4.
Kimberly, her parents, and teacher Kim Clemons are invited to the 2009 Annual Awards Reception on May 4 at Millsaps College in Jackson.
Greer accepted to Wellesley College
Cobren Greer, a senior at Biloxi High School, has been accepted to Wellesley College.
Wellesley, located in Massachusetts, is a liberal arts college for women that has such notable alumnae as U.S. Secretaries of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Madeleine Albright, and TV newswoman Diane Sawyer.
Cobren will graduate from BHS with highest honors. She is a member of numerous extracurricular and academic clubs, including the Biloxi High School National Honor Society, for which she serves as president; and is a third-year, award-winning theater student. She plans to visit Wellesley at the end of April.
