Biloxi Public Schools is holding a community forum on athletics for parents, students, student-athletes, and anyone in the community who has an interest in Biloxi athletics.
The forum, titled “Helping Our School Community Create a Great Athletic Culture,” will be conducted this Thursday, April 2 at 6:30 p.m., at the Biloxi Junior High School Auditorium.
The forum will be conducted by consultant Rob Miller, a Michigan high school and college athlete who went on to become a successful coach and administrator on the high school and collegiate levels. A question-and-answer period also will be held.
"We are hoping to have a good turnout on Thursday," said Biloxi schools Superintendent Dr. Paul A. Tisdale. "Rob works with high schools and colleges across the country and has a national perspective. We are working with him to help us be the best that we can be."

Beauvoir student named state gymnastics champion
Holly Howard, a sixth grade student at Beauvoir Elementary School, recently won the first place all-around title at the state gymnastics competition in Tupelo.
She also won first place on the balance beam and second place on the uneven bars.
At the awards ceremony, Holly was recognized as the top Level 6 gymnast in the state. This was her ninth time to win the first all-around title at a competition, but it was her first time to win this title at the state meet.
A few weeks before this win, Holly competed in Panama City, Fla., and she was the second place all-around winner. |
