Biloxi Public Schools are expected to be in session Friday, but district leaders will continue to monitor weather conditions and make a final accouncement Friday morning at 5:30.
The City of Biloxi earlier today advised residents and motorists to be cautious of weather and driving conditions this morning, as a winter storm warning was in effect until noon, with a chance of mixed precipitation
"There is some concern about cold weather moving through the state today and tomorrow," Tisdale said. "Students will be dismissed at their regular time this afternoon, Thursday, December 11. Weather conditions will be monitored throughout the evening by school officials."
Currently, Tisdale said, the plan is for school to be in session on Friday.
"A final decision," he said, "will be made Friday morning at 5:30, based on roadway and bridge conditions that may prevent busses from transporting students to school. Please stay tuned to local media for further announcements."
