Students who plan to attend Biloxi Public Schools for the '08-09 school year will have three days to register this year - July 21-23 - and this year state law is requiring that parents provide two documents to prove residency at registration.
Registration will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school the student will attend.
Among the accepted types of proof of residency (two types are required) are current utility bills, a driver's license, homestead exemption or automobile registration. Keesler parents may present a copy of their housing assignment from Keesler's Housing Authority.
Parents who are unsure of which school zone they live in can visit www.biloxischools.net/info/registration.htm, or either e-mail the Student Services office at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 228-374-1810, ext. 125.
The first day of school is Thursday, Aug. 7, for students who have completed registration no later than Friday, Aug. 1. The first day of school for late registrants is Friday, Aug. 8.
