2/15/2008

The Biloxi High Drill Team has been named the best in the nation.

The team, which was among 58 teams competing in the American Legion National Drill Championship, placed first in the National Championship in Unarmed Regulation Drill, commanded by Cadet Col. Kristin Jackson.

The championship, which was held Feb. 9 in Montgomery, Ala., is the largest one-day competition held in the United States each year.

The championship has three divisions of drill, with each division consisting of three events. Teams from across the country traveled to Montgomery to compete in the championship.

The Biloxi team also placed fourth in Facsimile Regulation Drill, commanded by the Corp Commander Cadet Col. Jessica Richmond; fourth in Facsimile Color Guard commanded by Cadet Col. Kristin Jackson; second in Unarmed Exhibition Drill commanded by Cadet Colonel Julie Angle, and fourth overall in the Facsimile Division and second overall in the Unarmed Division.
