The Lady Indians track team, led by Nachaska Wright winning four events, ran away with the District crown for the fourth year in a row.
During the district meet, which was held Thursday on the Biloxi campus, Nachaska won the long jump, 100 dash, 200 dash and 400 dash.
Angelina Papale won first places in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.
The team will now move on to the Regional track meet Thursday, which will be held on the Biloxi campus. It begins at 4:15 p.m.
Those who placed among the Top 4 finishers in their respective event, qualifying them for regionals are:
Frensha Sims -- second in 100, second in 400, and third in 200
Shaunise Jones – second in triple jump and second in 800 run.
Jessyka Coleman – third in triple jump.
Miia Newman – first in pole vault.
Christine Folks -- first in shot put.
Aneisha Bell – second in shot put; second in discus.
Aaliyah Leacock -- third in 1600 and 800 runs.
Skylar Pogue -- third in 3200 run.
All three of the relay teams for the girls’ qualified for the Regional meet by finishing second in the 4x200, second in the 4x100, and first in the 4x400.
The Lady Indians won the District Title with a point total of 114.5.
Said Coach Payton Ragon: "The hard work in practice has paid off for our Lady Indians. A job well done and the coaches look forward to a run at the regional title on Thursday."
