Band director: Preparation, hard work led to Superior showing
The Biloxi High School Band has marched off with a Superior rating in the Gold Medal Classic Marching Band Competition.
The competition was held Saturday at the Perkinston campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
"The students did a terrific job," said Band Director Travis Coakley. "The band received straight Superior ratings, the highest awarded, for overall band, percussion and color guard, and a fifth place finish out of 11 bands participating."
Added Coakley: "I am very proud of our students, staff and parent volunteers. They prepared with hard work, and it paid off as they represented Biloxi very well."
Getaway: The Band Boosters are continuing to offer a chance to win a Saints Getaway, with hotel accommodations, dinner and tickets to the Dec. 4 New Orleans-Detroit game. To print a flyer about the fund-raising event, click here.
