Lang tosses no-hitter in Gulfport match
3/22/2011

Brittany Lang tossed a no-hitter to lead the Biloxi Lady Indians to a 10-0 victory over the Gulfport Lady Admirals Monday night in Gulfport.

Arielle Russell drove in a run in the first and third to build an early 2-0 lead for Biloxi. In the fourth, the Lady Indians took advantage of two walks and an error to add three more runs to make the score 5-0.

Errors hurt the Lady Admirals in the fifth, helping Biloxi score five times to push the score to 10-0.

Lang and the defense took care of the rest. She struck out ten batters, and Gulfport's lone base runner came on a first inning walk.

“Brittany was definitely hitting her spots tonight, and we didn’t give too many hitters a second look at the same pitch,” said Biloxi coach Tommy Johnson. “The fastball was her bread and butter tonight, and the defense made plays when Gulfport put the ball in play.”

Dana Barhanovich finished with 2 singles in three at-bats and drove in three runs for Biloxi.

The Lady Indians (8-4) face Hancock Thursday.
