The Biloxi Lady Indians and Indians swept the Division 7-6A championships at Pascagoula Friday night, and will now host South State games at the Biloxi Sports Arena.
The Lady Indians ended the third quarter on an 8-0 run and used a pressure defense to pull away from Ocean Springs, winning the game 44-33. The two teams had split regular season games as Biloxi had won at Biloxi and Ocean Springs had won at Ocean Springs, but the Lady Indians were not to be denied winning the championship game at the neutral site.
The Indians scored the last three points of the half to tie the score at 24-24, and scored the first nine points of the second half to preserve their 32nd consecutive division win. Pascagoula, 22-6 on the year and having one of the best years in recent history, lost for the third time this year to Biloxi, as the Indians defeated them at Pascagoula and at home before winning the championship game on the Panthers home floor.
The Lady Indians are 22-6 on the year and will host Hancock in the first round of the South State playoffs Monday at 7 p.m. The Lady Indians are 12-0 at home on the year.
The Indians are 20-4 on the year and will host Hancock in the first round of the South State playoffs on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Indians are 10-0 at home on the year and have not lost a home game in three years.
Make plans to come out and support the Lady Indians on Monday night and the Indians on Tuesday night.
