Rights for Parents of Children with Disabilities Under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004

The Biloxi Public School District will provide a free appropriate public education to children ages three (3) through twenty (20), with a disability who, by reason thereof, need special education and, as appropriate, related services as defined under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Amendments of 1997 (IDEA), Mississippi Statues, and the Mississippi Department of Education regulations.  A free appropriate public education will be provided to students with disabilities residing within the jurisdiction of the district and who are enrolled in the Biloxi Public School District.  These services will be provided at no cost to the parent, meet the standards of the State Board of Education as set forth in State Polices and Procedures, and in conformity with a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
